We will start our tour of Pretoria with a visit to the Union Buildings. The Union Buildings are the official seat of the South African government. These stunning buildings are an iconic symbol of Pretoria and boast beautiful architecture and breathtaking views. Here you can take some memerable photos with the famous bronze statue of Nelson Mandela in front of the buildings.
After taking in the sights at the Union Buildings, we head over to the Voortrekker Monument. This iconic landmark was built to honor the Voortrekkers who left the Cape Colony in the 1830s and 1840s to seek a better life for themselves and their families. With some extra time, be sure to visit nearby attractions such as the Cradle of Humankind and the Magaliesberg Mountains. The Cradle of Humankind is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to some of the oldest hominid fossils ever found. The Magaliesberg Mountains offer breathtaking scenery and outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and hot air balloon rides.
